Autotorium

I have used the autotorium a few times and as stated fair prices and knowledgeable. A while back I had my Chevy Cruz towed there for diagnostic an estimante. The only thing checked was the compression. I was told it was going to most likely need a new motor. It had ran perfect before and as soon as it started getting hot was immediately pulled over and the car was towed home and not moved until it was towed here. After that I immediately had to tow it home again because it wasn't to sit there. He knew the circumstances. I personally think it just needed a head gasket and maybe a head. I had over 450.00 in tow bills and 200.00 in checking out the vehicle with out any disassembling done. The estimate for a used motor that had to bought there was aprox 4700.00. I honestly thought they might try n see if the motor could be repaired, it wasn't dismissed and to hear it probably needs a motor?? They weren't looking any further was disheartening. Most occasions I would have not have went anywhere else but I had to rethink the buissness as a whole. Maybe just one bad experience but it sure was an expensive one. So personally ive never been back. Good luck

Out of town and driving for a vacation into spring break weekend , our vehicle developed an issue and we could not continue driving. We were very fortunate this local shop was open on a Saturday and was willing to diagnose the issue. Curtis quickly diagnosed and repaired the issue. That service was above and beyond to help us get back on the road quickly, at a fair price. Great service at this small business .

I would advise caution when dealing with this company. They initially submitted an OEM part to our warranty provider. However, after the warranty company reviewed the claim more closely, it was discovered that an aftermarket part had actually been installed. As a result, the warranty company refused to pay the OEM price for an aftermarket component. Because the warranty claim was denied, the company then charged us the OEM price, even though an aftermarket part was used. This resulted in us paying an additional $360+, and we also lost warranty coverage on the part since the warranty company does not cover aftermarket components. When we contacted the company for clarification, Curtis assisted us. Unfortunately, the interaction was unprofessional—he was rude and dismissive, and even stated, “Report me, I don’t care.”

A co-worker recommended Autotorium to me as an honest mechanic who charges fair prices. Curtis was very friendly and fixed my issue with a leaking valve cover gasket for a reasonable price. He had my truck done the same afternoon I took it in. Thanks Curtis. I'll be bringing all my future car repairs to you.

Update Feb2020 : Autotorium is the best auto shop in Lafayette. Wish I could give them a 1000stars. Curtis diagnosed and fixed my headlight for a fraction of time and cost. My right headlight stopped working and three places wanted $75-100 and wouldn't tell me specifically what was wrong even after an entire week. Curtis took care of it in under 30minutes. He is most knowledgeable and honest. I would highly highly recommend Autotorium to one and all. Nov:2019 Curtis at Autotorium fixed my car in under an hour while 3 other shops failed to do it after spending days together. He repaired only whatever was needed and Didn't overcharge me a single penny unlike other shops where they were forcing me to get several additional things done which were clearly not required. Autotorium saved me a lot of time and money. Incredible customer service and a trustworthy & honest Mechanic who knows what he is doing. Highly recommend Him & I'm a happy customer. My brother was his customer too. Thanks for making my day Autotorium.
